Panelbuilder32 wont download says rslinx version compatibility

I cannot even find Panelbuilder32 in the categories any more and a general search gives me thousands of unrelated items. I am running PB32 v3. I can't see what "this error" is. Is there supposed to be some pasted text or image? Edit: I'm an idiot, you were referring to error My bad. Okay, I messed up the image trying to insert it into the body of the thread.

I can see it from the PC on which I created the thread Here is the image:. I have recently installed updated versions of Rockwell software, but about 3 months ago I did use PB32 and uploaded the panelview program at a client site. That leads me to believe that upgrading RSLinx to version 4. I hunted for a registry setting and PB32 ini file that might reveal a trick, but no luck so I submitted this question directly to RA tech support so maybe they can fix it for us. They are not going to put any effort into updating PB32 which is completely understandable.

Yes, I would wholeheartedly support this solution. I only run PanelBuilder32 v3. This prevents any or most incompatibility issues that could arise from using bit software with more modern bit OS or versions of interoperable software I'm suffering from this as well. I'm surprised you got it working at all in Windows 7".

The old DTL32 is what I am using for almost a year now and all is good.

To everyone that managed to use this trick to get the software to work, I am very happy that it worked for you! It took a while I set all sorts of result customization options to filter out the tremendous amount of data it displayed , but I finally stumbled on DTL As such, I gave the file swap a gamble and got lucky.

All of my machines run Windows 10 Enterprise. I changed to the provided DLL file and havent experience any issues so i have not changed back to my original file. If i experience any issues i will update.

The factory i work in runs alot of new and older Allen Bradley equipment. I know this is an old thread but it saved my life. I just wanted to thank you all for your effort and skill at solving this issue. I too was struck by this problem, Not 2 months ago I was happy go lucky uploading and downloading to my Panelview using Panelbuilder Monday I tried to connect and could not for the life of me get it to connect.

Spent the last 2 days searching everywhere I could think for an answer. And I stumbled onto this thread. Wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but the answer was here. I swapped the DLL file and I was able to easily connect, upload and download to my hearts content. Thanks again everybody! Hi gmarowski, the crazy thing is that this still applies. I remember having this issue and losing my mind over this.

I, too, stumbled upon this thread while scouring the internet looking for an answer. In fact, this topic was why I created my account on this site!

I am very happy to see that you and others have been helped by this, as something so innocent and normal as updating software can break such a still-important tool. It took hours to sort through the surprisingly large amount of data that program showed me, but man was it worth it.

Thank you, Thank you!!!!! You are the man!!! And i don't care if y'all fuss at me for replying to an old post. What a bloody hilarious thread this is. One thing I wondered: if PBWin Or if other. EXEs need to use the old version, put them there as well? I like how RA leaves folks utterly out to dry here: probably a significant portion of the industry is using "out of date" products, because "if it ain't broke, don't spend money on it" but one cannot even access the KB article without a TechConnect contract.

They make it pay-to-play for something that they don't even support any more? That is the purest, snarkiest, most shameful piece of ill-advised, penny-wise and pound-foolish, nickle and dime, try to force you to upgrade ANTI-support, ANTI-customer malarkey I have ever seen.

I know we tend to say "necro-thread alert" for this kind of thing, but some of these are classics and should be archived for easy lookup by error number and application. As old as it is, this issue still plagues us all today. I had long forgotten about this issue until I recently updated to CCW Oh, the pain. Thankfully, I had kept the DTL I strongly advise you all keep a copy for situations like mine which I believe I mentioned in my original post.

As a single example, consider the quality of manuals, for example, between the PLC5 series and anything that has been released in the last few years. The old manuals were so information-rich that they would advise and teach the reader on subjects far beyond the scope of the PLC although related.

The quality was remarkable. The current crop of "manuals" are far too simplified and often times, silly at least with regards to CCW and the the Micro series of PLCs. Then, there is the "legacy support" bit of their pricing scheme. You have to pay a premium for the chance to even think about talking to someone regarding older PLCs, drives, HMIs, etc. Come on!
