The choice you make can take the story in a certain direction; you can even get a game over if you make the wrong choice! That is usually a big no-no in a visual novel game to me, but this one handles it well as you can just reload a past save. I think that the different endings do give the game a solid amount of replay value so you will probably want to play it more than once. What we have here with Muv-Luv is a game that is part of a series and that series just gets better and better in my opinion.
I would not say that this game is slow to start like many other people do, however, I just think the sci-fi twist that the story eventually takes is just so crazy that it makes it even more engaging.
